Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Friday afternoon structure fire in Pahoa.
Responding to the 4:07 p.m. report of a fire on Ainaloa Drive, firefighters found an abandoned, single-family dwelling filled with smoke, according to the Hawaii Fire Department. Firefighters located the source of the fire in the closet and bathroom of a master bedroom and quickly doused the flames.
Damage was estimated at $8,000, according to the department.
